Kundapur, Mar 6: While the arrest of well-known editor of Karavali Ale B V Seetharam has kicked-off controversy, people from all walks of life are joining in condemning the arrest. While many have termed it as open attack on freedom of press, some others have criticized involvement of politics in police functioning.
Hundreds of civilians and journalists of the region held protest against B V Seetharam's arrest here on Monday March 5. They shouted slogans against police and submitted memorandum to assistant commissioner.
They appealed the government to protect the journalist and standards of journalism. They also demanded the administration to ensure the freedom of press and requested the early release of B V Seetharam.
