St Agnes Given Clean Chit in Yaswatha Exam Failure Case
Media release
Mangalore, Mar 8: St Agnes College has decades-old history of reputation for quality education, whose alumnae are spread the world over holding high positions.
Yashwatha, a I PUC student, in mid-2006 had gone public with allegations of manipulation of her answer paper. The Nagarika Hitarakshana Vedike (Civil Welfare Committee) had alleged at a press conference that her Chemistry answer paper written in the supplementary examination in June 2006 was not properly evaluated.
On receipt of a complaint from the aforesaid committee, the commissioner of PU education in Bangalore, called the deputy director of PU education, the principal and the concerned Chemistry lecturer of the college at the directorate of the exam section on November 15, 2006.
The commissioner sent the answer paper for re-evaluation to a PU college in Bangalore. This process has confirmed that the evaluation done in Mangalore was absoulutely in order and there was no injustice done to the student. Even the evaluation done in Bangalore has proved that Yashwatha had not attained enough marks for her qualification.
This information has been conveyed by the commissioner of PU education by letter to the Civil Welfare Committee.
St Agnes College management, while releasing the letter issued by the Pre University Board to daijiworld.com, giving clean chit to the college, said that it has been proved by the Board authority that, the College has taken the right decision on the Yaswatha's case and its action has been justified.
