Kundapur, Apr 6: 'Nava Kundotsava 2007', an exhibition-cum-sale of Self Help Group products organized by Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust got off to a colourful

start Friday April 6 on the Gandhi Maidan here.

The programme was inaugurated by Udupi district in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya.

A procession was held as part of the programme from Shri Kundeshwara Temple to Gandhi Maidan.

State Co-operative Apex Bank president M N Rajendra Kumar and MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty were the chief guests on the occasion.

The programme was held for the benefit of self-help groups to make them aware of the importance of being financially self-sufficient. 

Nearly 50 self-help groups from all over the state participated in this exhibition-cum-sale.

Third State Finance Commission chairman A G Kodgi, Byndoor MLA Gopal Poojary, State Co-operative Apex Bank director Shanmuka Basavaraj Gowda and Udupi Zilla

Panchayat president B N Shankara Poojari graced the occasion.
