Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, May 22: A team of policemen led by Adoor police circle inspector, Satish Kumar, has arrested George Joseph (53) from Belloor Natekal Anekkala in the district. He has been charged with issuing matrimonial ad, and sexually harassing a woman who had approached him after seeing the ad.

Joseph, who had married earlier, and has children, has been living separately. With the intent of marrying again, he had given a matrimonial advertisement inviting interested candidates to meet him. After going through this ad, a 42-year-old woman from Waram, Kannur, had come to Mulleriya, searching for Joseph. Joseph escorted her to his house in Natekal. As he promised to marry her, it is said, the woman continued to visit Joseph now and then for a year since November 4, 2013.

The woman filed a court complaint, alleging that Joseph meted out sexual harassment to her during these visits. As per the directions of the court, Adoor police had registered this case. As the accused had fled in the meantime, his arrest had been delayed.
