Mangalore: Christians Observe Good Friday

Mangalore, Apr 6: Good Friday, the day of crucifiction and the death of Jesus Christ at Calvary was observed by the Catholics in Mangalore, with great devotion on April 6.

The lowering of the body of Jesus Christ was done at Rosario Cathedral in the evening and the palanquin was taken in a procession. Rt Dr Aloysius Paul Dsouza, Bishop Mangalore participated in this procession by holding the holy sacrament. Procession passed through Pandeshawara circle and post office there.












Thousands of devotees participated in this procession and commemorated the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. The palanquin was designed by Jasmine flowers. In all the churches of the city, devotees offered prayers and remembered the last movements of Jesus.
