May 27, (Emirates 24|7): Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, has clarified about the picture of a woman on social media who took selfies with a man whom she claimed was an alleged thief, reported ‘Al Khaleej’.
Maj.-Gen. Al Mansouri said investigations have revealed that the man was not a thief, but that he was drunk and had entered the woman’s room unintentionally. Investigations revealed that the man was visiting his friend who is the watchman of the building where the woman lives and he was drunk.
The woman had claimed on social media that the ‘thief’ entered her apartment in her absence and was shocked to see him in her bed.
Maj.-Gen. Al Mansouri said the incident took place last Thursday and the man was arrested no sooner than the police received information from the Tunisian woman.
Maj.-Gen. Al Mansouri said that the man has admitted to sneaking into the woman’s room through one of the windows. The man claimed that he was sleepy and did not intend going into her room and that he woke up only when the police arrested him.
Meanwhile Colonel Abdullah Khadim Al Masam, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, said that the department received an information from the woman that she found a thief in her room and police patrol rushed to her home where they found the man asleep in her bed and the woman was taking selfies.
