Channapatna: 9 of Family Die in Road Accident

Channapatna, Apr 16: Nine members of a family died in a road accident here along the Mysore-Bangalore highway when their four-wheeler collided with a bus. All the dead are from Kathriguppe in Bangalore.

They were travelling from Bangalore to visit a patient hospitalised in Mandya. Police sources said that the accident occurred when the driver tried to avoid a dog.

The driver lost control and the vehicle hit the road divider and then the bus. Thimmamma, Baghya, Sowmya,Venkatalakshmi, Manjula, Prashanth and Ammu died on the spot; Nagendra and Sunitha died on way to hospital.
