Mangalore, Apr 1: It was another day to rejoice for the clergy as well as laity of Mangalore diocese as 7 deacons were ordained priests by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore on Tuesday April 17 evening.

The Solemn ordination ceremony was held at Rosario Cathedral here with number of diocesan as well as religious priests and brothers, nuns and laity witnessing this solemn occasion.

Bishop in his homily said that what is expected of God's priests is not only sacrificing their familiar and loved ones but also sacrificing their personal interests for the service of God and His people. 

 "Be rooted in prayer and commit yourself completely to God's mission.  Base your lives on Word of God.  You will surely be exemplary priests and hones servants of Kingdom of God," he exhorted the newly-ordained.

Melwyn Lobo, son of Francis and Carmine Lobo of Mogarnad, Maxim D'Souza, son of Jerome and Irene D'Souza of Narampadi, Santosh Menezes, son of Anna Maria and the late Anthony Menezes of Gurpur, Rockey Fernandes, son of Felix and Ellu Fernandes of Fermai, Lancy Saldanha, son of Marcel and Cosses Saldanha of Beltangady, Maxim D'Souza, son of Lily and Michael Mascarenhas of Miyar and Michael Mascarenhas, son of Albert and Alice Masrenhas of  Nellikar were ordained on Tuesday.
