Panaji, Apr 18: Goa assembly elections would be held on June 2, the election commission announced in Delhi on Wednesday.

Notification for the polls will be issued on May eight and last date for nominations is may 15. Scrutiny will take place the next day and last date for withdrawl of candidature is May 18.

Counting of votes will be on June five.

The model code of conduct will come into effect immediately.
