Bantwal, Apr 18: The hore kanike procession of newly-constructed Sacred Heart Chapel of Thodambil near here was held on Wednesday April 18 evening.

The newly-built chapel of Thodambil which is on the way to Polali from B C Road will be blessed and inaugurated by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore on Thursday April 19 morning.

The chapel has been entrusted to the patronage of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ and Modankap parish priest Fr Roque D'Sa will be the administrator of the chapel.

As part of this solemn and auspicious celebration, hore kanike procession representing the offerings made by devotees was held on Wednesday evening.

The procession was flagged-off at the Infant Jesus Church campus at Modankap.  Fr Roque D'Sa flagged-off the procession after blessing the gifts of groceries, grains, vegetables, coconuts, betelnuts etc brought by the parishioners and devotees from surrounding areas.

Fr Joseph Rodrigues, Fr Sunil D'Souza along with hundreds of devotees participated in the procession.  Richard Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks.
