Mangalore: Jain Community Leader Rajavarma Rai (87) of Puttur No More

Mangalore / Puttur, April 19: Prominent Jain community leader of Puttur, Moodayurguttu Rajavarma Rai (87), passed away on April 17 after a brief illness.
He was a widely respected public figure and a man of social concern.
A devout person, he had served as managing trustee of 'Arigo Baider Garodi' belonging to the Moodayurguttu family, honorary president of Shri Vishnu Murty temple, Kemmai and as member of renovation committee of Shri Shantinath Basadi, Puttur.
During his active life, he had also served as chairman of Chikkamudnur gram panchayat and as president of the Chikkamudnur school betterment committee.
He is survived by three daughters and three sons, including Dr Ashok Padival.
