A hilarious Tulu play: ‘Aapini Poora Eddege’

There is much more to entertain the gathering. A hilarious family Tulu drama ‘Aapini Poora Eddege’ will be performed by Pokri Pernal, one of the well-known troupes in this part of the world. Having already performed in Konkani plays like ‘Vishentiche Bhaav’ and ‘Mankddacho Pai’ which were well-appreciated, this first-time Tulu venture will definitely be a treat for the masses.

The story line:

Ananda Rai is a middle-class farmer and a proud father of Sridhar and Kavya. It is a happy family. Avinash, a coffee estate planter’s son from Madikeri and a good friend of Sridhar who visit Sridhar’s house, falls in love with Kavya and there are no real obstacles for their marriage as well, except that Dr Prasad, another good friend of Sridhar too is interested to tie the marital knot with Kavya.

Avinash and Kavya’s love has so intensified that Avinash has rendered Kavya the sweet gift of a baby in her womb.  One day, Rai family receives a telegraph containing the gruesome news of Avinash’s death in a road accident.  Tragedy strikes Rai family and all are really in great misery and trauma.  To add more distress to their grief, Ananda Rai unfortunately commits suicide.

What really happened to Avinash? Did he really die of an accident? Did Dr Prashanth play any villainous role to ruin the family? If yes, was he able to convince Kavya to marry him? What happened to Sridhar?  Was there a happy ending or did the Rai family’s happiness came to a disastrous end?

Written by Chandrashekhar B C Road, Aapini Poora Eddege is an excellent family story with great mystery until the last dialogue.  Also great humour to tickle your ribs.

Directed by Vishwanath Shetty (who acted as ‘Kappanna’ in Girish Karnad's Kannada play ‘Nagamandala’ held at Indian Consulate Auditorium on March 23), this play will be one of the most anticipated ones in Dubai.  Book your seats today, as only limited tickets are available.

Tickets are priced at Dh35 (reserved front seats) and Dh20. To book your tickets, please call
