Mangalore, April 30: Educationist Krishnashastri Balila on Sunday April 29 said that corruption can be wiped out by acquiring education.
Speaking at an awareness programme organised by the taluk education resource centre, VALORED in association with the Ganjimath gram panchayat at Malali here, Balila said that the officials in the government offices hesitate to demand bribe from persons who are educated.
He also said that the citizens must utilise the money properly sanctioned by the government to promote education. He urged the parents to focus more on their children’s education as well as their health. Parents were called upon to send their children compulsorily to schools and anganwadis.
He further informed about the various facilities and schemes provided by the government in the education sector said that the government was doing its best to give free education in government schools; hence there was no reason for parents to deny education to thier children. He also added that children need not travel more than 1.5 kms to reach schools.
Ganjimath gram panchayat vice-president G Sunil, member Damodar Kulal, VALORED members Prameela and Ashalatha were present.
