New Delhi, May 5: A Delhi-bound British Airways flight from Istanbul made an emergency landing at Tehran on Friday after some technical snag.

The plane that took off at 1900 hrs (Istanbul time) made the unscheduled halt after two-and-a-half hours of flight, according to information reaching here.

The BA plane had about 127 passengers onboard, most of them Indians.

A passenger on board informed that the plane was forced to land at Tehran and the cabin crew informed the passengers that it was due to a technical snag.

The pilot, R Cecil, informed over the phone from Tehran that the landing there was due to some electrical problem that the plane had developed.

Some spares were being sought from Istanbul and it would take about two to three hours for the necessary repairs to be carried out and the plane to take-off for Mumbai, he said.

The Turkish Airlines got the passengers to disembark and rest at the terminal while the repairs were being carried out.
