Panaji, May 17: The deadline for filing the nominations for the forthcoming Goa General Elections scheduled in June has got over and the scrutiny work has begun in full swing.

The last day saw about 179 candidates filing their nominations for the assembly elections. The scrutiny has already begun at the deputy collector's office at Panaji under the guidance of deputy collector Garima Gupta.
