Kuwait, May 19: Tulukoota Kuwait (TKK) one of the leading Mangalorean association in Kuwait under the president ship of Satishchandra Shetty organized a musical nite ‘RASAMANJARI’ on Friday May 18, 2007 at 4.30 pm at Masra Hawalli Auditorium, Hawalli. The main attraction of the program were Ramachandra a prominent, inspiring and renowned singer who has sung for more than 90 feature films and Kishore Kumar, an immensely popular ventriloquist, program compere and mimicry artist who came all the way from India.
The program started with welcome dance followed by lighting of the lamp by President and committee members of TKK. President Satishchandra Shetty welcomed the gathering. Mind blowing Kannada, Hindi, Konkani and Tulu songs were sung by visiting singer Rameshchandra and local singers of Kuwait Suresh Salian, Allen Pinto, Dillon Noronha, Muriel Mascarenhas, Sarita D’Souza, Piyali Shekar, Shubha Balthilaya, Punita, Godwin Louis, Jossy D'cunha, Shashiprabha Aithal and Lancy Rodrigues.
Excellent dance performances were given by local dance groups such as Mudra Nritha Vidyalaya, Bunts Group, Ballerine's Kittens, Sanghamam Dance Troup, Jova's Xlnc, Rak Dance and Ballerine's Entertainers.
Mimicry ‘Mathanaduva Manga’ by Mr. Kishore Kumar was a new experience for Kuwait audience. Rib tickling jokes were enacted by Lancy Rodrigues, Sanath Shetty, Nasir, Madhwaraj Rai, Sachidananda, Naveen Kumar, Valley D’souza, Sudharshan Shetty and Kishore Shetty.
Sponsors of the event were called on dais and felicitated with flower bouquets. The First secretary of Indian Embassy P.M.Thomas honored visiting artists with momentos. President Satishchandra Shetty honored them with traditional shawl. A.K.Ravindra proposed vote of thanks. The well arranged program was co-ordinated by Tharendra P. Shettigar and well compered by Kishore Kumar and Shalini Alva.
The announcements were done by Kavita R. Kediyoor, Swarna Shetty & Chandrahas Shetty. Foot tapping music was provided by Melody Makers (Mr. Manoj) with effective sound by Philip Mathew & Thomas. Sparkling and effective stage lighting was provided by Iluminations (Mr. Anand) and make up by Ajay Ghosh. Stage Setting done by Pramod Rao, Vinith Kumar & Ajay Ghosh whereas informative slides were delivered by Steevan Misquith.
The well arranged program came to an end at 9.30 pm with national anthem.
