Mangalore: Airport Immigration Officials Detect Another Case of Impersonation

Mangalore, May 29: It is yet another feather in the cap of the Bajpe airport immigration authorities.
A case of attempt to travel on another's passport - third of its knd detected since 2006 when international flights started being handled at Bajpe - came to light on Saturday, May 26.
Speaking exclusively to Daijiworld, immigration officials informed that one Biju K, son of Kunhiraman of Kunnumel house in Kasaragod in Kerala, holding a genuine passport issued in the name of Kunil Mohammed (33), got his own photograph pasted beneath the laminated sheet on the designated page of the passport. He was to board Air India Express AIX 801 scheduled to fly to Dubai at 2010 hours on Saturday.
Alert officials led by inspector Manjunath Shetty detected the passport having been tampered with and questioned the holder. He confessed to the fraud and was arrested at once.
Biju was later handed over to the Bajpe police station. The police produced him in court on May 27 and the court remanded him to judicial custody up to June 8.
