Mangalore, May 30: Inauguration and blessing of newly-built Nityadar Church at Salethur near was held on Wednesday May 30.

Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore inaugurated the church and offered holy mass on this occasion along with the priests and devotees who were present in large number.

Fr Tony Lopes SFX, superior general of the Society of Pilar inaugurated the new presbytery and Fr Galdinho Monteiro SFX, provincial superior of Goa province inaugurated the auditorium.

A small felicitation programme was held in the church premises after the Holy Eucharist.  Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the function.  Building contractor, engineers and labourers were felicitated and presented with memento on the occasion.

Dolphy Monteiro, secretary, district Congress committee, Benjamin D’Souza, former leader of the ward (Gurkar), TP member N Mohammad, GP president Babu Naik, parish priest Fr Noel Menezes and assistant parish priest Fr Nelson Fernandes assistant were also present on the dais.

Parish council vice-president Euzak Veigas welcomed the gathering. Felix Lobo proposed the vote of thanks. Charles Veigas and Prameela Monteiro compered the programme.
