Mangalore, Jun 4: A four-day national-level instructional workshop on ‘Complex Analysis’ began at National Institute of Technology Karnataka here on Friday June 1.
The workshop, to be directed by Prof Ravi Kulkarni of IIT Mumbai, aims to train young researchers to participate in the forthcoming international Congress of Mathematics to be held at Hyderabad in 2010.
At the 22nd annual conference of Ramunajan Mathematical Society mathematicians will discuss recent development in the subject. Prof R Balasubramaniam from IMSc Chennai will deliver a public lecture on ‘Euler, the Master of Us All’. Nearly 35 resource persons are expected to deliver talks on different topics.
Prof R S Bhoosnurmath of Karnataka University, B R Shankar of NITK Suratkal, Prof R R Sinha from Mumbai University and Prof A P Singh of Jammu University will be the resource persons at the workshop.
