Mangalore, June 6: The newly-built office of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike will be inaugurated on Friday, June 8 at Town Hall here.

This was announced at a press meet here on Wednesday, June 6.

The office will be inaugurated by noted advocate and president of Bar Association K Monappa Bhandary. The Vedike state president T V Narayana Gowda will preside.

State legislative council members Dr M P Nadagowda and Basavaraj Bommai, DK Zilla Panchayat president Sushma Janardhan, veteran writer Mohammad Baddoor and others will be the chief guests.

Former deputy mayor Judith Mascarenhas, renowned Ayurvedic specialist Dr M K Gardadi, social worker Jayalakshmi Hegde, Syed Madani Educational Institution, Ullal president Haji U K Ibrahim and Lions district president Sumati S Hegde will be felicitated on the occasion.

On the same day, the Vedike will organize Suvarna Karnataka celebrations which will be inaugurated by former deputy chief minister S Siddaramaiah. The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by former minister B Ramanath Rai.

The chief guests will be mayor Vijay Arun, Suratkal MLA Krishna Palemar, Father Muller hospital administrator Fr Denis D’Sa, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Harikrishna Punaroor and others.

Former MLA B V Kakkillya, Kannada Development Board former president B M Idinabba, Suhasini Bhandary, wife of the late Kallige Mahabala Bhandary, Dr Malati Hegde daughter of the late Jinaraj Hegde and Nadoja Dr Kayyara Kinnanha Rai will be felicitated.  Dr Kinnanha Rai’s 93rd birthday will also be celebrated on the occasion.

Those present at the press conference included Ramesh Prabhu, Ganga Prakash, Chandrashekhar, Gopalkrishna and Oliver D’Souza.
