Mangalore, Jun 14: Karnataka Bank aims to grant Rs 500 crore as loan for the benefit of farmers during the current financial year, said Bank president Ananthakrishna.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of ‘Agri Business Conference’ held here on Wednesday June 13.
He said that agricultural business should be given more importance while considering the development aspect of India. The farmers should be given proper guidance and the problems arising in this field should be resolved, he added.
General manager of the Bank (loans) G K Bhat said that apart from making farmers aware of the agricultural schemes in banking, they should also be given proper training.
DGM (loan) B Vittal Rao welcomed the gathering while chief manager Ramesh S proposed the vote of thanks. Ramesh Vaidhya presided over the function.
Chief general manager of the Bank P Jayaram Bhat, general managers N S Chakkera, K H Shivaswami Aithal, DGMP Jayaram and others were present on the occasion.
