Udupi, Jun 14: The rice farming has been dwindling in the coastal district over the past two or three decades. The lush-green fields have made way for real estate development as also cash crops.
Hence, after being exposed to concrete jungles and hustle-bustle of motor traffic, a sight to soothe the eyes is the one of paddy fields.
Our photographer captured some hectic paddy farm activity - preparing for what is known as "Yenel" crop in local parlance - in progress in and around Kaup in Udupi district on Thursday.
