Tehran, Aug 26 (IANS): Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that Tehran aims to start the process of nuclear commercialisation following the conclusion of nuclear talks with the P5 1 group of world powers.

“The UN Resolution not only recognises our nuclear programme, but also urges the world powers to cooperate with Iran,” the president was quoted by Press TV as saying in the western Iranian city of Hamadan on Tuesday, adding that Tehran will start nuclear commercialisation by importing yellow cake.

Rouhani also stressed that "under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Tehran intends to use a new technology in the Arak nuclear complex in coordination with two members of the P5 1 group”.

We hope that Iran’s nuclear agreement is fully implemented and we can attract more foreign investment, the Iranian president added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani hailed the efforts of Iran’s negotiating team during the nuclear talks with the world powers, saying that the Iranian nation should be informed about the “great work” of the country’s diplomats.

On July 14, Iran and the P5 1 countries -- the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany -- finalised the text of the nuclear agreement, dubbed the JCPOA, in the Austrian capital city of Vienna.

Under the JCPOA, limits will be put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all economic and financial bans against Tehran.

The UN Security Council on July 20 unanimously endorsed a draft resolution turning the JCPOA into international law. All 15 members of the UN body voted for the draft resolution in New York, setting the stage for the lifting of the Security Council's nuclear-related sanctions against Iran.
