Bantwal, Sep 11: A case has been registered at Vittal police station against the Veda teacher Shyam Sunder Shastri who abused a boy. The video of the Veda teacher seen beating and abusing the boy had gone viral on social media on the night of September 8.
The video also published in Daijiworld shows the teacher beating the boy and using wrong language with him at a Veda camp outside a temple in Vittal. The teacher asks the boy whether he was a 'Brahmin' or a 'Kshatriya'.
Sources said that the boy received the harsh punishment for having shown some indiscipline when the Veda teacher had gone out. People, who watched the little boy with a plaster on his fractured hand being beaten up by the inhuman teacher, condemned the incident and demanded action against the teacher. The boy begs the teacher to stop beating him, but the teacher continues the beating and his abusive language.
The incident is believed to have happened some months back during the summer holidays of children when the Veda classes were held. It is not yet known who filmed the video and why it was only made public so late only on Tuesday.
The complaint regarding the matter was filed by B K Sesappa, leader from Vittal Dalit Seva Samiti. Sesappa had urged the Vittal police to investigate the matter and take strict action against Shastri.
A complaint has also been given to women and children welfare department.
