Karkala: Never take law into hands, inform cattle thefts to police: SP

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Sep 11: "No one has the right to take law into their hands. If you notice illegal activities like cattle theft, bring them to the notice of police immediately," advised Udupi district superintendent of police (SP), Annamalai.

He was addressing a public meeting organized at the police station here on Thursday September 10 relating to issues like Ganeshotsava celebrations, Bakrid, and cattle trafficking.

"We have formed a separate team at the district level to handle cattle thefts. This team will keep vigil over this activity round the clock. At the same time, as a precautionary measure against recurrence of cattle thefts, we also conducted a parade of persons accused of this activity, who had been nabbed earlier, in the police station," he explained.

The SP directed the policemen to put their canes to use without any hesitation, if Hindu or Muslim youngsters form gangs, take law into their hands, indulge in gang fights, lay siege to police station, or raise slogans against the police. He requested people not to create a situation in which police will be compelled to take harsh steps against them.

Reacting to a question, Annamalai said that it has come to his notice that armed gangs of cattle thieves are operating. Therefore, he said that the police personnel guarding at the check posts would be provided with arms of self defence. He said that the police have come to know about incidents of religious conversion at certain places, and promised to take action against the guilty. He also instructed the local police circle inspector to arrest the thieves involved with cattle theft at Renjala recently.

The SP asked people not to feel overwhelmed if they receive death threats through internet. He asked them to convey the caller's number and time of such call to the police immediately to enable them to register a case and make efforts to trace the culprits.

Deputy superintendent of police, Vinay S Nayak, circle inspector, G M Naykar, and city police sub-inspector, Imran, were present at the dais.

RSRB and other like minded readers....Cattle theft is to be condemned strongly.... In fact BD leaders are heavily involved in cattle trade in villages... It is the idiot muslims, who fall prey to such tactices easily....The buyers should demand to deliver the cattles at their houses , instead of taking delivery at sellers house.... If the people are really involved in cattle thefts, then their legs should be broken....
The cattle breeders should have some discipline ..They should not allow the cattles to roam / raze/ wander on roads / private properties like ORPHAN GODS...The cattles cause heavy losses causing road accidents, and to the public by grazing all the greenery available in some ones private property.....

    SP Sir

Nobody is stealing the cows, they are sold to those who wish to buy as a commodity
    Now the big question
Are you concerned about COW Protection?
If so please take your police squad, and those whose sentiments hurt to those cow slaughter companies where they kill thousands of cows one day and export as Indian Beef
Why you are silent on it?
Your target is small time public who wish to eat beef or those who kill in thousands?
Locate those mass killers and arrest them for life
For many cow is not sacred, it is just an animal like sheep, goat.

Mr Ibrahim, if no theft has taken place, then why our idiot Muslim brothers are not transporting the cattle legally....Why cant they posses the papers to prove the purchase, if the idiots can not prove it, then the thieves should not invite trouble for themselves and for the society....

Bajrangees do wait and watch cattle trafficking. stolen cattle taken over by waylaid Bajrangees during transportation by particular community boys and boys are chased away. Later Bajrangges re-sell cattle to illegal slaughter houses. This is a way of income for unemployed Bajrangee goons.

To keep their hold on 'Save cow' mission and money making trade, Bajrangees use publicity propaganda by beating cattle trafficking boys law taking into their hand

Cow thiefs have become more active after the demise of Verghese Kurien who is the founder of Amul. Now a days no one wants milk and only want meat. Some say Chaddies and some say chaddiless.. but all these things are happening becuase of movies like Chennai Express which is meaningless and people in this area are more interested in meaningless things. To make life more purposeful, Government must immediately 5 days working week. They should create more pubs, dance bars, Striptese in Mangalore so that people will not have any time to look for cows. Also, all the cows in Mangalore should come together and fight against Yettinahole project and save Nethravati. Only then they can get more grass here and give more milk to everyone.

Is this SP is not bothered about warning the thieves? Rather he is warning those whom he is supposed to give protection.

What a shame? He already agreed his departments inefficiency in stopping cattle theft. Does he has guts to break the legs of those cattle thieves nabbed all these days? No need to break all cattle thieves legs? Do it for only one. Rest all fall in line. People in village can sleep peacefully.

Is SP's advice is applicable to all thieves or only cattle thieves?

Imagine, a thief comes into my house and started stealing the things. Should I stop him or call police station which is 15 km away from my home. I am sure thief will finish the job before police arrive.

Another scenario: if police do not lift the telephone, what to do?

Third scenario: Suppose the thief attacks me, should I loose my hand or leg by following your advise?

Fourth scenario: if thieves attack 10 houses at the same police station limits, then whether police station has 10 different teams to nab the thieves?

Fifth scenario: Thieves may call police in advance and inform falsely. When police go to that place, they steal another location comfortably.

Any more scenarios required? I still have many... Informing police and waiting for them to come is USELESS IDEA.

I agree with what the cop says. Why take up law into your hands on the pretext of punishing the cattle thieves.

By doing so you will be committing a greater sin than cattle theft and slaughter and that is manslaughter.

yes, follow the law & order. when the armed gangs of cattle thieves come to your hut & nearby place & started their operation then you need to inform nearest police station. when the police come to the spot either the gang may completed their operation or fled away or any one of the person may be arrested. after that everyone knows the fact. thieves godfather will come to the picture & arrange to release the person. again the same people will continue their job & poor people loose their cattle. this is happening from many years but police dept is unable to stop. there is no end for this, unless & until the vote bank politics come to an end.

Dear Perchu, I think you support people who sell their Go-Mata and after receiving cash from the purchaser they inform moral police (looters). These looters then chase the purchaser, beat him, steal valuables from him and also the cow. Do you support this illegal thing. For your information cow stealing is being done 90 percent by BD goondas as they are jobless. These jobless goondas then sell the cow or transport it to Gujarat and sell to Beef export factory owned by bjp members. If you want to stop cow steal or beef, first go to Gujarat and agitate in front of beef meat factory where hundreds of cows are being slaughtered per day. You don't have the guts for that and torturing an innocent who legally purchases cow from the owner.

It is correct . Follow law & order. I too suggest.

    But sometimes the question arises

Is Law & order still there in Karnataka ?

Don't stop the cattle robbers till they escape from the site by the time Police reaches.

Always like old Hindi movies, Police will reach the site after everything over.

Later, ready answer investigation is going on. ( How much the culprit have in his bank account & how much he can afford to bribe)

SP SPEAKS AS IF HE HAS SOLVED 100% THEFT CASES. FIRST OF ALL HE SHOULD ALLOW THE COMPLAINT TO SPEAK AND SET RIGHT THE SYSTEM IN POLICE STATION.
IF CONCERNED POLICE NOT RESPONDS TO COMMON MAN WHO ILL AFFORD TO PAYOFF AT POLICE STATION SHOULD WE WATCH THE DRAMA SILENTLY OR WITH WHOM TO GIVE COMPLAINT ALTERNATIVE CHOICE IS WHO COMES FOR HELP ON HIS OWN.
ALWAYS POLICE SHOULD COME FORWARD WITH HELPING HAND IRRESPECTIVE OF COMMUNITY TO WHICH HE BELONGS TO.
INTERFERENCE OF POLITICIANS IN THE SYSTEM IS THE MAIN REASON WHY PEOPLE LOOSE FAITH IN LAW/JUSTICE.

Law and order is firm and far better than previous yeddi is rule.
What police published in the conference is clear to all offenders. Only politicians backing is the main cause. If we keep communal minded politician away and then no one has courage to do any immoral act. All incidents we watch in India is only because ONLY ONE communal party's support.
Next term, better not to support.
