Dubai, Sep 11: Dubai's most awaited Gulf Premier League 2015 is going to set off on October 15 and 16 at the internationally reputed ICC Cricket Academy Grounds, Dubai Sports City.
The highlight of the tournament is the presence of star cricketer of all times, Bharath Ratna Sachin Tendulkar on the final day of the event. Bollywood stars Sunil Shetty and Anushka Shetty will grace the event along with other dignitaries.
The event is powered by Kushi Group, Dubai in association with Blue & Black Events and Al Muzain Group. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the title sponsor of this highly reputed event. During the recently held press meet at Majlis of Shaikh Muhammed Sharif, chairman of Khushi Groups, Sadiq Kaup, the president of GPL 2015 announced that for the first time in the history of hard tennis ball cricket format, a huge sum of prize money and attractive gifts will be awarded to the winning teams and individual players. 8 of the top teams, 4 from UAE, 2 from Saudi and 1 each from Kuwait and Qatar will be playing for this coveted tournament which will be played as per ICC rules and regulations. The 10 overs league matches will be played on October 15. 15 overs semi finals and 20 overs finals will be played on October 16 from 10 am to 10 pm.
As it is a high voltage tournament star cricket players from various cricket playing countries are also expected in teams because in each team 4 foreign players can participate.
