Fr Faustine Lobo Caritas' Devt Consultant for Karnataka

Bangalore, Jul 6: Caritas India, the national social development organization of the Catholic Church of India has appointed Fr Faustine L Lobo, the coordinator for ‘Karnataka Region Pastoral Plan Implementation committee’, as its first ‘Development Consultant’ for Karnataka.
Fr Faustine Lobo, a priest of the Diocese of Mangalore at present based in Bangalore is coordinating the work of the 17 commissions under the Karnataka Region Catholic Bishop’s Council (KRCBC). It could be recalled here that Karnataka region has ‘Karnataka Region Pastoral Plan’, according to which this assignment will be his additional responsibility of being the Development Consultant.
As Development Consultant, Fr Faustine will be guiding the diocesan social service societies and all the church-based NGOs to enhance their capacities in putting in place the necessary structures and systems for professional management of the organizations and to build a network of all these NGOs both at the diocesan and regional levels in Karnataka. He is also the member of ‘The Regional Steering Committee’ and ‘The Regional Project Selection Committee’ of the Caritas India.
Fr Faustine hails from Bantwal parish of Mangalore diocese. While carrying out several responsibilities in the diocese, he has been the director of CODP, the Mangalore diocesan social development organization for 7 years. He is a national-level trainer in the topics connected to social development.
Fr Faustine Lobo his studies in social development in the Coady International Institute, Canada. He has helped several organizations and religious congregations in planning for their organizations.
Kristotsava 2007
Fr Faustine is also convener of a "Mission Congress" called as "Kristotsava 2007" will be held in the Good Shepherd Auditorium, Bangalore from November 8 to 10, 2007. It is an event to reflect on the relevant ways and means to 'Tell the story of Jesus'.
This being a regional event, at least 100 delegates from each of the ten dioceses in Karnataka are expected to participate in it.
