Monthi Fest: Kanara Cultural Association (KCA), Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 16: Monthi Fest celebration and annual general body meeting of Kanara Cultural Association, Delhi, was held on September 13 at Diocesan Community Centre, Gole Dak Khana, New Delhi.

The day’s program began with veneration of Mother Mary and blessing of new crop which was followed by blessing of ‘Manachivaath’at the grotto of Mother Mary at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Rev. Fr Chetan Machado, Spiritual Director of KCA blessed the ‘Manachi Vaath’ as well as new crop.

After the veneration, all gathered at Community Centre Hall. Fr Rohan Ronald Sequeira distributed the ‘ManachiVaath’ to those who gave ‘Murdom’ and celebrated the Holy Mass in Konkani. Fr Victor D’Souza, Fr Vincent D’Souza, Fr Charles D’Souza, Fr Chetan Machado, Fr John Monteiro, Fr Sunil Crasta and Fr Valerian concelebrated. Fr Rohan gave a meaningful homily. He stressed about the ‘Mansugi’ of Mather Mary and how it applies in our lives.

After the Holy Mass, Fr Rohan Ronald Sequeira was welcomed to the KCA family by offering a flower bouquet. KCA felicitated Fr Chetan Machado on the occasion of his new appointment as National Chaplain of YCS/YSM. Fr Victor D’Souza offered a shawl and KCA President Elias Pinto greeted him by offering a flower bouquet.

After the tea break KCA President Elias Pinto welcomed the General Body and explained the proceedings of the AGM. KCA Annual Report and Statement of Accounts were placed before the members by the secretary Prashanth D’Souza and the treasurer Godfrey Frank respectively, which were adopted by the General Body. After a short discussion Elias Pinto thanked everyone and closed the AGM.

After the AGM KCA President Elias Pinto requested Fr Chetan Machado to conduct election forthe new KCA Executive Committee for the year 2015-17 and to select members for the Advisory Committee of KCA.

After the election,Education Awards 2015 were given away to the KCA children who secured 75% and above in their academics. The award and certificates were distributed by Fr Vincent Crasta and Fr Victor D’Souza.

Sumptuous Lunch was served to all. Simon Misquith, and KCA team was instrumental in preparing and arranging lunch.

After the lunch fun Games were conducted for children followed by Tombola and Hamper draw.
Prizes to the winners of various games were distributed by Fr Chetan Machado.

At the end secretary Prashanth D’Souza thanked one and all for their cooperation.
