Kasargod: Gas tanker overturns, traffic on highway affected

Kasargod, Oct 8: A gas tanker overturned on the morning of Thursday, October 8 at Nayanmarmoola on the outskirts of Kasargod, causing heavy vehicular traffic on the national highway. The driver was injured in the accident.

The gas tanker was plying from Mangaluru to Kannur. When it reached Panalam at Nayanmarmoola, the driver of the tanker lost control and the vehicle overturned.

Police and fire personnel who reached the spot are taking preventive measures to stop the gas leakage. The vehicular movements to Vittal, Puttur Sullia and Kanhangad have been hit.

The officials and technicians from Mangaluru from the oil company will arrive and shift the gas to another tanker, it is said.

The rear tyres of the tanker have come off. Measures are being taken to avert gas leakage.
