Seoul, Oct 14 (IANS): South Korea's monthly job creation rebounded last month due to recovery in domestic demand, a government report showed on Wednesday.
The number of those employed stood at 26,264,000 in September, up 347,000 from the same month of last year, Xinhua cited Statistics Korea as showing.
The rebound came as domestic demand showed signs of recovery from the negative impact from the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) outbreak, which dampened consumer spending.
Jobless rate was unchanged at 3.2 percent in September compared with the same month of last year.
Employment among manufacturers increased 3.8 percent year-on-year last month, and service firms continued to hire new workers.
