  • HC stops director from touching the money made from Black

Mumbai, Jul 31:  Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his associates have been barred from touching the money they made from Black.

The recent Bombay High Court order also instructs Bhansali to submit a detailed income and expense account of his critically- acclaimed movie.

The order came in response to the case filed by antique collector Farida Hoosenally against Bhansali and his associates. Hoosenally is seeking compensation of Rs 4 crore for damage to the antiques she had supplied for the movie between December 2003-04.

She has sought Rs 2 crore towards losses with interest and Rs 2 crore towards expenses incurred on the case and mental trauma.

The court has restrained and also sought details of the proceeds received from selling the rights of the movie to TV, DVD, VCD, Internet and any other medium.

Bhansali’s advocate Sanjog Parag said they were going to file a reply against the order and were confident it would be set aside. All the allegations made by Hoosenally are baseless, he insisted.

Bhansali and others have to file a reply before August 7 or a rejoinder before August 13 in the court to the allegations made by Hoosenally. The next hearing has been scheduled for August 18.
