Bengaluru: Priority to curbing communal forces, moral policing: Parameshwar

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 1: New state home minister Parameshwar, who was recently given the cabinet berth in the Siddaramaiah-led state government and the home affairs portfolio formerly held by K J George, on Saturday October 31 said that he would give top priority to curbing communal forces and moral policing in the state.

"My top priority will be to curb communal forces in the state. Police personnel who fail to take appropriate action against moral policing will be held responsible and dealt with," he said, during a meeting with higher police officials at his residence here on his first day as home minister.

"The coastal region has become a hub for terrorists. Such activities in Mangaluru, Udupi, Karwar, Belagavi, Hubballi and other places will be brought under control," he added.

"Communal forces have been increasingly plaguing the state and incidents of moral policing are also on the rise. This has happened because of the style of functioning of some police officers," he claimed.

"In coastal and Malnad regions and in some other parts of the state, some outfits affiliated to the Sangh Parivar are oppressing and assaulting people of other communities, minorities and Dalits in the name of religion. Those who consume beef are being attacked. People are finding it difficult to lead a peaceful life," he said, adding, "In spite of some many incidents, some police officers are still sitting quiet with their hands tied."

"Some evil forces are constantly trying to bring a bad name to the state government. Such anti-social forces should be nipped in the bud in the beginning itself. A keen watch should be kept on those who try to create communal disturbances and they should be dealt with strictly. The state government will extend all support for this cause," Parameshwar said.

While taking the police department into task over the above matters, he also praised the officers and the personnel for doing a good job in the state. "So far, law and order in the state has been handled very well, and in future also it should continue. The police department faces a lot of challenges, and everyone must join hands to resolve them. I am ready to extend all support to the police department. In return, you must do your duty with honesty, integrity and sincerity," he told the police officers.

"The people should not lose trust in the police department or the government because of the increase in communal forces. Action should be taken without any hesitation against anyone who breaks the law, no matter who that person is. I will not interfere with the police affairs, and will always support those who work well. However, I will not remain silent if anyone tests my patience or misuses my name," he said.

To a question by reporters, Parameshwar said that he did not ask for the home affairs portfolio and that it was the decision of chief minister Siddaramaiah. "K J George had done an excellent work as home minister and I am thankful to him. He should have been retained as home minister," he added.

This is what is required most in Karnataka. Take extreme actions against who spoil the atmosphere of Karnataka, particularly coastal Karnataka. Take actions against outsiders who come to coastal region to incite communal violence in coastal area. Also take action against the goondas who have spoiled the communal fabric of coastal Karnataka.

    Dear readers,

Well at last we have Home Minister from ruling Congress who is at least talking about curbing the communal forces.

As a first step please shuffle the entire police force from undivided Canara.Show zero tolerance to the 'moral police',cow chase',rowdyism and communal elements regardless of caste and creed.

If only few heads are encountered majority of them live in peace.

It is time to walk the talk.We need actions on the ground fear.A fearless public servant.

We Kannadiga don't want 'Godhra Model' but we want to live impression of 'Gandhada Gudi' forever.

Well said.In total no one can change. In Karnataka with pwer cut for 5-7 hours in a day from the beginning of the Month of September 2015, how can he expect the common man to leave peacefully.

We expect our elected government to provide good quality water, 24*7 power throughout the year and cosumable commodities at reasonable rate and days without agitation/ bundh supported by any of these Political parties,so that common man can live peacefully.

Hope everyone will agree with my line, if they know the definition of peaceful life.

Best decision and thoughts of the new Minister but should be practically. How this Moral Policing spread around the district and also Rowdyism, (Eliminate all Rowdies by Shoot at sight) Deploy the force of "Karnataka State Reserve Police" " KSRP " around, so every thing will be under control and people will be in peace. Even, all corrupt police personal to be taken out and falls complaints to be dealt with Sincerity, so people will get the confident and can live peacefully.if this is happened, there is no need of asking the Vote, people Happily will vote for the best. Hope for the best and lets watch and see as per the Media statements given by. May God Bless.

Parameshwar has to prove that he is deferent from useless K.J.george.To curb communal forces he has to concentrate on coastal districts where some of the supporter of sanghis are in police dept n inelegance beaurue .By arresting the communal innovator of the region kalladka bhat who facing serious charges can bring back the confidence of minorities n dalits on the congress govt.Because of sangh parivar today every community in need of retaliatory organisational movement which is not a sign of prosperity.WE CAN REMEMBER THE BEST OPINION OF PREVIOUS I.G GOPAL HOSUR THAT NO RIOTERS ARE CAPABLE THAN THE POLICE .

In this case also even Sidu also did the same to avoid fight the negative political return.
In fact at ground zero our honorable & beloved CM Sindu doing extremely well & his popularity remain still very high.., wait & watch for Bihar result ..., in karnataka opposition will fall flat and run back to fill up all rat holes in karnataka. ...lol
