Bengaluru,Nov 2: A man carrying a rusted knife, concealed in his body, created a flutter at Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Janata Darshan at his official residence of Cauvery in Bengaluru on Monday.

The security personnel at the Chief Minister’s official residence of Cauvery detained the person during the routine check-up on Monday morning.

The person identified as Lingaraju is aged around 50 and is said to be from Rasipura in Mysuru.

During the regular frisking, which mandatory for all visitors at the Chief Minister’s residence, the security personnel detected the weapon and the man was immediately detained.

The detained person was immediately taken to the High Grounds police station.

During questioning it was revealed that Lingaraju hailed from Rasipura area and has a history of mental illness.

Surprisingly, during the interrogation the man reportedly told the police that a "helicopter had dropped him to the CMs residence."

Police are investigating and have taken up the case with their counterparts in Mysuru for additional information on Lingaraju.
