Mangalore: Duplicate Certificate Racket Busted - Three More Held

Mangalore, Aug 10: The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) sleuths led by inspector A D Nagraj have arrested 3 persons after busting yet another duplicate certificate racket on Thursday August 9.

The arrested have been identified as Nazeer Hussain (33), son of Adam of Kasaba Bengre, Abdul Munaf (32), son of Moosa of Cascia and Mohammad Haris (26), son of F Bava, a resident of Akbar Ali Compound, Kasayigalli-Bunder.

The accused based in door no 10-1-4-/27 on the first floor of Gandhi Sons Building on Azizuddin Road here in the city were involved in preparing duplicate certificates of various well-known institutes such as Fr Muller Medical Institute, Mangalore University, Adi Chunchanagiri Nursing Institute, MAHE, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences etc. 

The accused were involved in producing duplicate certificates of SSLC, PUC, BA, B.Com, MBA, B.Sc, MA, ITI, Engineering, and Nursing etc. They were also adept in producing duplicate marriage certificates, election ID, birth certificate, income certificate and other things with the help of multiple colours in the computer.  They also used to produce the signatures of principles, vice-chancellor in order to aid those going abroad, seeking better jobs.

The police have already seized duplicate certificates from them and also seized a computer worth Rs 35,000 and 7 CDs which was used to produce these certificates.  Police have also recovered 2 mobiles phones and Rs 400 in cash from them.

Bunder police have registered a case in this regard and are pursuing the matters further.
