Dubai, Nov 11: After staging several successful shows, Gammath Kalavider UAE, an amateur Tulu drama troupe is here again with yet another Tulu comedy and social drama 'Nank Matherla Bodu' by well-known writer Naveen Shetty Alake of Lakumi troupe, Mangaluru.
The maiden show of 'Nank Matherla Bodu' is scheduled to be staged on February 12, 2016, at Emirates Theatre of Emirates International School, Jumairah to mark the fifth anniversary of Gammath Kalavider, UAE.
The muhurat of the Tulu drama was held on Friday November 6 at Winny’s Restaurant Al Karama, in the presence of distinguished guests, sponsors and supporters, along with members of Gammath Kalavider.
Amateur Tulu drama troupes of UAE came together as 'Gammath Kalavider UAE’ in 2011 to provide a common platform to Tulu drama artistes to exhibit their talents on stage. A number of artistes have proved their talent with several super hit dramas from past several years.
After the rituals were performed for the success of the upcoming drama, Purohit Laxmikanth Bhat handed over the script to Vishwanath Shetty, director, and other artistes.
Gammath Kalavider UAE not only performs Tulu dramas every year, but is also a role model to other organizations in supporting and understanding the needs of the poor and unfortunate people of society and helping them. This year too, Gammath Kalavider UAE has decided to continue its support for a noble cause.
Harish Bangera, patron of Gammath Kalavider, Sathish Venkataramana, president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Satish Poojary, president of Billawas Dubai, Alwyn Pinto, president of Mangalore Konkans, Joseph Mathias, managing director of Merit Freight LLC, Prabhakar Ambalthere, president of Marga Deepa, Suganda Raj Bekal, Sudhakar Thumbe and other well-wishers were present at the muhurat.
Vishwanth Shetty, president, welcomed the gathering on behalf of Gammath Kalavider and Suvarna Sathish, coordinator of Gammath Kalavider proposed the vote of thanks. Rajesh Kutthar hosted the programme.
