BJP politicising Madikeri incident, says home minister

Bengaluru, Nov 13 (DHNS): Home Minister G Parameshwara took a dig at the BJP and said that the party is politicising the Madikeri incident, where a VHP member died during Tipu Jayanthi celebrations.

Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday, Parameshwara said that strict action will be initiated against those who take law into their own hands. He added that the BJP is free to raise any issues and objections in the upcoming State legislature session. The Opposition party is politicising the incident and it is not right to politicise every issue. The Opposition should only give the ruling party constructive criticism, he said.

On VHP’s plan to organise a State-wide protest against the incident on Friday, the minister said the police have taken necessary steps to ensure law and order prevails across the State. Directions have been issued to the police to take strict action against those who violate the law of the land, he said.

Congress candidates

Asked about the selection of Congress candidates for the upcoming legislative council polls, Parameshwara, who is also KPCC president, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and himself will soon shortlist the probable names. The party high command will finalise the candidates, he added.

CID probe

This apart, Parameshwara told a private new channel that the State government has ordered a CID probe into the charges against Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya's wife, who reportedly accepted bribe to award a contract in the Social Welfare department. Anjaneya had denied the charges.

When the majority of the public are against celebrating Tipu Jayanthi, why Congress party and CM still want to do it.

CM, do not play on fire and never underestimate people's anger. Do u knwo what happened in 1973 in Gujarth. When the entire public came to the road and started agitating, the CM was not only forced to resign but has to run for unknown destination to save himself.

I am also a admirer of Tipu but if the majority are against it, better not to celebrate it. Respect people's feelings too.

Regardless of political party involved, 'vote bank politics' causes more harm than good, in the long run.

Hope all parties involved, will, rather than playing with fire, strive to strengthen the social fabric and living standards in our beloved India.

In fact its congress is the core basic reason for creating this issue. It was not essential to have this Jayanti here. Congress knew it will give chance to communal forces but still it went ahead with decision . Parameshwar cannot misguide people in this manner . His government is soly responsible for creating unwanted situation and giving a chance to communal forces

It is unfortunate that BJP in centre plays communal game and the congress state govt reciprocates it, in its own way. It is politics all the way.

The apathy of the people is making things difficult for themselves. If every communal act like Dadri to Tipu jayanti, is met with resistance like India saw in Nirbhaya case, only then politicians will be scared to bring religion into politics.

I believe candle light marches must be held for all communal incidents.

Siddu's arrogance has been the main cause for all this nonsense. Tipu jayanthi was done to pinch the hindu community than to appease muslims. I am sure there were intelligence reports on how the situation would have gone out of hand if they had gone ahead with the jayanthi. Ahankara does not listen to all this. Now everyone will play blame game. I am sure you will all agree that no individual has a grudge on any religion, in fact we greet each other with open arms. It is this political nonsense which has divided us. Lets not leave Mangalore/Karnataka/india suffer with this. Already there are no major companies coming to mlore, thanks to this and the hopeless govt which is shooing away investors by not even having power in the state we may not ever!. Religion maybe important, but it is personal so follow it at your house! don't bring it to the streets.

dear HM, congress thinks all of them are fools. Making Tipu jayanthi a govt function, what were you doing ? None in Karnataka with a sensible mind will accept Tipu as a freedom fighter or a warrior who fought for Kannada cause. You are doing pure vote bank politics to corner JDS and using sangh parivar to polarize the society for you. Kempe gowda remark was also well planned to agitate vokkaligas to drift away from JDS as they would not overtly oppose Muslims. Your govt is playing dangerous game and I really hope you pay for it at the earliest.

What about Congress? Was the Tippu Jayanti necessary? Was he a freedom fighter? He just wanted power and he fought for power. You cannot change the history. Tippu was intolerant king who killed so many Christians and Hindus. Respect the true nationalists and not the butchers like Tippu. Congress is interested in vote bank. Show your concern through development and non corruption. Farmers are committing suicides and congress government is busy in celebrating birth anniversary of murderer. There is no difference between Congress and BJP. Both the parties are same. Both are corrupt and communal. We need strong military rule which can shoot the corrupt and those indulge in anti social activities. Don't play with the religion. Congress and BJP are expert in playing with religion and caste.

Did people elect you to celebrate Jayanthi's of your loved ones?

These Jayanti's and Bandhs are equally wasteful and unproductive expenditures.
Not to be too emotionally attached to any one. Offer issue based support. BJP or INC should be reasonable and sensible, not to go over board and mislead people in anything. People are now matured enough to understand what is right and wrong.

Can we say the same thing what was being done with central government....

Communal riots in India is not new. BJP was not there in 1947, so by your logic any communal violence happened from 1947 to 1990 can we blame the congress???

First try doing BJP Muktha Dakshina Kannada, then you can think of entire Karnataka.. Till hindus are in majority in India, BJP Mukta India is not possible, please put all your force

BJP was not there but your Hindu Mahasabah Sabah was alive since 1930's which later became RSS and created a political party Bharatiya Jan Sangh (BJS) in 1951-1977 and later reformed as BJP in 1980.

So these are the true perpetrators who have been sowing seeds of communal violence across in India with their covert modus operandi under the name of Hindutva.

May be it wont be possible to muqt India of BJP but truly a day will arise when it's own people a true Indian will banish these communal party and bite to it's dust.

Atrocities on people will never last for a long time. Baatil parast ka sarvanash hokar hi rehta hai.

"Falsehood is bound to perish and in the end only truth will prevail."

The above quoted words are of Almighty and history is the witness to the above statement.

Let peace and happiness prevail in India and across the globe. Let all these falsehood, mischief mongers, communal mongers perish and be cleansed out of world. Ameen

Ahmed Bhai.. it is not Hindu Maha Sabha who demanded for a separate country for Hindus instead it was Muslim Legue who demanded separate country for Muslims. The birth of Hindu Mahasabha was offset of dividing the country into 2. when the Hindus and other religion of India could tolerate the rule of Muslims in the name of Moghuls - why did Muslims wanted a separate nation ? even today there are countless Muslims who still are dreaming about another muslim nation. we have agreed we have fanatics in our religion and we condemn them. even today even though the fringe parties have d bandh we ordinary Hindus have not budged to the call and we are working as usual. we would like to see the same reciprocation by our Muslim brothers. Accept that, you do have fanatics who are dividing the society and condemn the act. once we don't fuel the fire the fire shall put off by itself.
