Mangaluru, Nov 14: A youth was stabbed by bike-borne miscreants at Babukatte near Thokkottu here on the night of Saturday November 14.
Dheeraj (25), a resident of Inoli, Pavoor was stabbed while he was riding home with a friend after work.
It is learnt the Dheeraj, who works at a printing press, was sitting pillion on his friend Seetesh's bike which the latter was riding. When they reached Babukatte, miscreants came from behind in a black Pulsar bike and stabbed Dheeraj before fleeing the spot.
Dheeraj who sustained injuries on his shoulder was admitted to Wenlock hospital in the city.
Ullal police have registered a case.
Stones pelted at bus, one injured
In a separate incident reported earlier in the day, miscreants pelted stones at a private bus moving towards Someshwar from Mangaluru via Ullal.
A passenger identified as Vijay, a resident of Someshwar, sustained minor injuries on the face.
The incident took place between Mukkacheri and Ombattukere. The miscreants damaged the window pane of the bus, and Vijay who was sitting at the back of the bus got hit by a splinter on the eye. Luckily, as he had recently undergone an operation, he was wearing dark glasses which prevented any serious injury.
Following the incident, bus drivers held a flash strike in protest, and all buses between Ullal and Someshwar stopped plying for a while.
Ullal police arrived at the spot and registered a case.
