After inaugurating the programme, he said, "Co-operative unions help in building the nation. They work hard to provide all basic amenities to common people. Farmers are the backbone of our nation. There is a need to build confidence among famers. Farmer suicide rate has grown in the state due to burden of loans. It is a serious concern for all of us. Co-operative unions and government should work together for the welfare of the farmers.
