Chikkaballapur, Nov 16: “Yettinahole is money making project. Congress leaders themselves have differences on the project. Nobody from this region will gain from the Yettinahole project. There should be good projects which will find permanent solution to the water problems,” said former chief minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday, November 15 here.
He was speaking after inaugurating the tractor rally organised by JD(S) demanding permanent water projects for Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts.
“When Veerappa Moily comes to Chikkaballapur, he talks about Yettinahole project. But in Dakshina Kannada, his party’s senior leader Janardhana Poojary talks against the project. It is three years since the foundation stone was laid for the project. But the work has not begun yet,” Kumaraswamy added.
“Congress and BJP both do not have any plans and intentions to find solutions for the water problems in the state. Instead they play politics in the name of water. Nobody knows the amount of water this region gets if the project is implemented. Moily has cheated the people of this area by laying foundation stone for this project in a hurry to get votes,” Kumaraswamy continued.
“It is sad to note that the state government is least bothered about the water problem here. They have not tried anything to find a permanent solution. I will raise this issue during the assembly session this time.” Kumaraswamy promised and concluded.
