Puttur, Nov 17: Puttur police have arrested film actor Vinod Alva in relation to the conspiracy charges to murder Sachidananda who used to manage his financial affairs.
The arrest was made on Monday, November16 at Ishwaramangala by Puttur town police inspector Mahesh Prasad, Puttur rural police inspector B S Ravi and other police personnel under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Dr S D Sharanappa.
It is said that Sachidananda used to manage all the financial affairs of Vinod Alva. He also had power of attorney issued by Vinod Alva to execute the financial dealings. But On March 7, 2015, Sachidananda went to court against Vinod Alva demanding compensation for his work. Before that he handed over the power of attorney back to Vinod Alva.
On 15 November 2015, when Sachidananda was going by bike to the milk dairy at Ishwaramangala with his worker riding pillion, a jeep hi the bike from behind at Kukkaje. It was learnt that the jeep was driven by Udaya Chikithaya, an associate of Vinod Alva.
Later Sachidananda complained to the Puttur rural police that the bike and jeep accident was intentional to eliminate him as he had gone to court against Vinod Alva. Sachidananda said in the complaint that he feared for his life in the future because of the accident.
Dr Sharanappa who was briefed about the case, asked the Puttur rural police to charge Vinod Alva and Chikithaya immediately with murder conspiracy charges and take appropriate action against them.
It is learned that Vinod Alva is a rowdy sheeter at Puttur rural police station for threatening the people in Badagannur and Sullia Padav twenty years back. It is said that Vinod Ava had conspired to eliminate one BJP politician from the area who was against him. Sachidananda had refused to participate in the conspiracy. Vinod Alva wanted to hire criminals from Andhra Pradesh to kill the politician as he was repeatedly objecting to Vinod Alva’s dominance in the area. It is claimed that the BJP leader had a strong public support.
