Bantwal, Nov 17: A woman allegedly killed her husband after he came home in a drunken state and picked a quarrel with her late night on Monday November 16. The incident was reported at Veerakamba here.
The deceased has been identified as Vasu Shetty (45).
It is learnt that Vasu came home drunk on Monday night and started quarrelling with his wife Shobha and also assaulted her. In retaliation, Shobha stabbed his chest with a pair of scissors, killing him on the spot.
Shobha is a former member of the local gram panchayat. Sources said that Vasu used to come home drunk every now and then and harass Shobha. The couple's two children were away at their's relatives' house when the incident took place, sources said.
The police arrived at the spot and arrested Shobha.
A case has been registered in Vittal police station.
