Mangaluru: Tipper driver's recklessness results in man's death

Mangaluru, Nov 21: A person named Chandrashekharan (60) residing near Pumpwell in the city, lost his life in an unexpected accident on the evening of Thursday November 19.

Chandrashekharan, it is gathered, had ordered for a truck load of laterite stones for constructing a compound wall for his house. Upendra, who was driving the tipper truck loaded with laterite stones, reportedly moved the truck on reverse gear suddenly towards the spot where the stones had to be unloaded. In the process, the right hand side door of the truck hit Chandrashekharan. Chandrashekharan, who was pushed back in the accident, was crushed between the truck and the compound wall, it is learnt.

Chandrashekharan, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, was rushed to a nearby private hospital. But he was declared brought dead.

The city rural police, who have registered a case, have transferred it to traffic (east) station for further investigation.
