Mangalore, Aug 16: Dr C Rangarajan, chairman of economic advisory council to the Prime Minister of India visited Soorinje near Suratkal and Paranki village near Madanthyar to inform the villagers about the implementation of financial enclosure and branchless banking project by Corporation bank.
Smart cards were given to some of the villagers by Dr C Rangarajan on this occasion.
Corporation Bank has so far completed survey in 576 villages across the country under financial inclusion project. The scheme of the Bank aims at delivering banking services at an affordable cost to the vast sections of disadvantaged and low income groups especially in rural and semi urban areas.
B Sambamurthy, chairman and managing director, K L Gopalakrishna, executive Director, A Mohan Rao, B R Bhat and K Ramamurthy general managers were present on the occasion.
