Kalaburagi, Nov 26: "I have been cleared of all the allegations. So, please stop adding the adjective, 'tainted', against my name," said former chief minister of Karnataka, B S Yeddyurappa.
He said that the high court verdict has affectively silenced those who had conspired against him and also people who wanted to take revenge. "All the cases filed against me stand cancelled. So, please stop terming me as tainted," he pleaded.
It may be recalled that the state high court, on Tuesday November24,finding defects in the permission granted by the then governor, H R Bhardwaj, to prosecute chief minister, Yeddyurappa, on January 21, 2011, had held it illegal. It had asked the permission to be put through a fresh process of review.
He clarified that even after being exonerated of the charges, his interest remains in strengthening party organization at the state level, as he does not have any interest in becoming a central minister.
When questioned about the post of the state BJP president, he said it was left to the discretion of the top leadership of the party. "If they entrust the responsibility to me,I will strengthen the party from grass root level," he added.
