Kuwait, Aug 21: Konkani Kullvar, the Mangalorean Konkani Writers’ Forum in Kuwait has organized Konkani Day Celebrations to mark Konkani's inclusion in the 8th schedule of Indian Constitution, on Friday August 24 at Indian Community Girls’ School, Salmiyah.

‘Don Ghodeo Hason Kadyan,’ directed by Lancy Pinto Nayak Kulshekar, will be performed on this occasion. At the same time, Ivan Almeida Kundapur, Lancy Rodrigues Bondel, Gration D’Souza (Paradela fame), and Rosary Ferns of Goa will entertain the audience with their melodious voice. Macleena Serrao and Meleena Serrao will perform a folk dance later.

‘Kullvarchem Dirvem,’ a collection of short stories and poems written by Kullvar members will be dedicated to the late Johny Suratkal at the function.

Henry D’Paula, editor, ‘Kutam’ Konkani weekly, Walter D’Souza Nandalike, editor-in-chief, Daijiworld.com, will arrive in Kuwait as chief guests. Veronica Fernandes of Goa, journalist and Konkani fighter, Fr Theo Fernandes and Fr Melwyn D’Cunha will be present on the occasion.
