Bengaluru, Dec 8: National spokesperson of Hindu Mahasabha, M Vasudeva Rao Kashyap, has informed that Swami Pranavananda stands expelled from the post of state president of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha. This has been done on the basis of allegation of misuse of public funds, delivering addresses which are communally inflammatory, and nepotism, he added.
"Pranavananda had taken over as the state unit president of Mahasabha on November 19, 2014. He failed to properly manage the Swamiji Sangha created by him. He was found to be involved with activities against the organization. His background is not good, with criminal cases having been lodged against Pranavananda in several police stations. Therefore, he stands expelled from our organization," Kashyap stated in a press statement issued on Monday December 7.
As per the decision taken by the office bearers of the organization, Pranavananda stands relieved from the post with effect from December 1 this year, he stated, adding that Pranavananda has been barred for undertaking any activity in the name of the Mahasabha. He warned of filing criminal cases against Swami Pranavananda if he is found misusing the name of the Mahasabha after his expulsion.
Confirming the expulsion, Kashyap told daijiworld that a resolution had been passed by the state unit of Hindu Mahasabha to oust Swami Pranavananda, and that 10 executive members had signed the resolution.
However, speaking to daijiworld, Swami Pranavananda denied the allegations and lashed out at Kashyap saying, "He is a fraud. Who is he to expel me? All his claims are false," he said.
When contacted, national general secretary of Hindu Mahasabha Munna Kumar Sharma declined to comment and said he was unaware of any such move.
