Moodbidri: Rajesh Shetty - Married 7 Times, Caught at the Eighth Attempt

Daijiworld Media Network – Moodbidri (MM/SM)

Moodbidri: Aug 30: He is mad of marriages and has already married 7 women. But this did not satisfy him. Hence, he decided to have another marriage. But fate and his fortune which had faithfully accompanied him so far had something else in store for him this time around.  The hero met police as villains who spoiled his dream marrying for the eighth time.

Rajesh Shetty, a resident of Beltangady is a bus cleaner in profession. Hence, it was an easy task for him to come into contact of young unmarried women. He used befriend them and had even managed to marry 7 young women from B C Road, Ujire, Ashwathapur, Aliyur etc.  These women however, belonged to Bunt, Gowda and Billava communities.

After marrying a particular woman, he used to stay with her for sometime and later send her to parental house saying that he had leave to far-off places on duty.  But in order to keep up their faith, he used to visit them at their parental every now and then.

Recently he married a woman of Aliyur and was staying in a rented room at Shirtady. Interestingly, she is his seventh wife. As she was pregnant he had sent her to her parental house, recently. Meanwhile he was planning to marry another woman.

He befriended a woman from Shirtady and even met her parents.  After talking to them, he fixed the wedding for August 31 at Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple at Bappanadu.  However, after a week he called them and told to change the place to Shri Annapoorneshwari Temple at Kodyadka with a reason that Bappandau temple will be crowded these days since a lot of devotees visit the temple in the month of Shravana.

However, this sudden change of plans made the parents of the girls to doubt about him.  They immediately informed about him to local Bajrangadal leaders. When they latters started enquiring about him, his colourful life which was hidden from everyone came to light. He immediately spilled beans. They handed him to police who managed to elicit information about his past.

Though he has finally been caught, it is only after spoiling the life of 7 young women.  Law may take suitable action against Rajesh, but no one can give back to these 7 women what they have lost.  In a way it is a warning bell to all those young women and their parents who agree to give their daughters in marriage to someone unknown just on the basis of his sugar-coated words and luxury living.

Unpardonable crime from this germ (not groom). I hope he gets the worst punishment. The ladies and their parents are also at fault. How on earth can these marriages take place? Don't they have system of enquiries, trying to know about the family through some common friends or relatives?

But anyway, these girls and their parents are paying far more than fair share for their mistakes unfortunately. What about Rajesh's parents and relatives? Don't they know anything about it. How could they allow these things?

Also, one aspect I did not see is if there is that dirty dowry angle to this complicated case. Hope there will be some good solution to the plight of women - may be some bold youth could marry them again (but not for fame or money please)

It looks like marriage is just enjoyment for Rajesh and moreover he doesn't want to waste his money in the red light area.Girls beware before making anyones friendship and try to find out background first then the romance which lasts only few days/ months. As a lady I felt so ashamed by realizing that how these seven girls can be so stupid marrying a cunning man.

Is his action worth to comment? However, by hanging him there will not be any solution to the seven so called wives, who, together with their parents fell for him. Instead, he should be made to work like a donkey and to be forced him to looked after all the wives financially.

Very nice super seven time groom... It's not his fault...The culprits are the women who agree to marry him blindly without knowing his bachground. I have seen in DK district, the bus cleaners becomes so close to students, small part time job holders.. etc. some times they won't take ticket charges too.

The women also becoming close to them some times without any reason. This leads to liking each other and ending with a marriage even though there is no support from parents. How come he managed to have 7 marriages. This kind of crime is impossible without involvement of these women. Now who will give a lost life to these women and of course to children they had from this super groom..?

Beejada Bori. Better to tie him in the ox shed for the rest of his life instead of in the jail. You know why I am saying this.

This is really stomach-turning. Rajesh is so stupid to do this in his life. I feel pity on women who spoiled their lives forever but advise parents of young teenagers to take care of their own children with an absolute solemn way. Rajesh you are an "EARTHWORM" I must say.

Well done Mr. Rajesh Shetty, you must complete a century of marriages and within 5 years India must cross 2 billion population with the help of your friends and your stupid in-laws. There are no chances for other animals in India to live. And no need too. because people will eat people.

I suggest to these 7 wives to cut this man in to 7 equal pieces and take home their share of husband. I really admire these stupid parents who kick their daughters out from their houses and give as gift to this fortunate Krishna.

Dare Devil ! Should be hanged 7 times for this crime. As we all know he cant stand the 1st rope. But even this sentence will be not enough for such animals. Our Indian Law is such. This, It happens only in India.
