Mangaluru, Jan 6: Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Dr S D Sharanappa, has said that the new police station proposed to be set up at Dharmasthala would be inaugurated within ten days and the date of its inaugural would be announced soon. He added that a police sub-inspector and 12 personnel have already been posted to this new police station.

He gave this information to media persons, after participants at the monthly meeting on Dalit grievances held on Tuesday pointed out that the station had not been opened although a declaration about it had been made six months back. One of the participants at the meeting, Shekhar, had demanded to divert the staff posted to Dharmasthala to Beltangady station to help manage law and order situation there in a better way.

Sharanappa said that the inauguration of the station was delayed because of election and some bitter incidents which occurred in the district. He also said that during 'Operation Muskan - 2' being conducted in all the police stations in the district during January, special drive will be launched to find missing children.
