Issue is why DK has gone unnoticed when we see similar other cities like Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, and many more have grown by leaps and bounds leaving DK not less than 25 years behind.

There is hardly any positive for any big business house to set shop here except for those in the educational arena!!

Most of the Govt officials in Karnataka are Tamilians..Because of Tamilian lobby..They always tried to keep Mangalore away...Majority of goods produced and imported in Blore passes thru Chennai Port..reason they never allowed to build good road, railway ..This attitude will continue unless all MLAs from coastal area raise their voice.

DK District badly needs to move forward.

In spite of having some of the most highly educated and intelligent manpower resources in this part of the globe, it is sad that most of the twin districts' youngsters are forced to leave their homes/near & dear ones, in search of jobs/livelihood.

The existence of NMPT (Mangaluru Port) is indeed a big advantage.
But, due to lack of proper infrastructure (including severe power shortages), DK Dt. has remained backward and not been able to realise it's true potential.

Let's hope a serious effort is made to remove these shortcomings, along with total elimination of immoral rowdyism (through fear of the law by means of effective and strict policing, irrespective of party/religious affiliations).

Wake up DK! It is a "do or die situation". Twin Districts are second to none. Do not miss this golden opportunity.

I really appreciate the initiative taken by our honourable DC A.C.Ibrahim to hold 'Invest Dakshina Kannada' conference'.But according to my concious will it work and what will be the outcome?
Definitely we need to invite the investors here because Mangalore should develop,Grow. But under the present scenario,is it worth it to invite the investors to come here and invest?.Concerned departments, authorities should first focus on rectifying our shortcomings, hurdles in the region and then think about inviting investors.I don't think that hey will hesitate to come here and invest provided they are given free hand to operate their business by rectifying the present load shedding, there should be uninterrupted electricity, should be provided with good roads, better drainage system, better water supply,to put a stop for moral policing, frequent communal disturbances, sexual abuse, rapes, robbery, tension free bureaucratic works.

If they find the atmosphere is conducive for them definitely they will come and invest.Otherwise they may think twice to take any bold decision. Is it possible to plug out all these shortcomings?.There is an ample scope to come here and invest and thereby creating so many vacancies in different fields for the younger well talented, educated youths.Over all we need our region to grow. This is possible only after cleansing the existing dirt in our region.Good luck and all the best wishes.

Good idea , but before inviting investors who are looking to invest in mangalore DC need to promise below points.

    strict law and order
    ban local groups to dominate
improve the night life in across DK until 10.30 to 11 pm- specially trade, market , entertainment -this would improve automatically our tourism sector specially in our DK due to the weather factor... people prefer to come out in the evening for shopping, trading , entertainment, outing etc
more police / community officers to safe guard people on daily basis

Dear Ibrahim sir good initiative to attract investors to DK. Any mantra to convince them for their security and the money they invest. Will the leader of religious rowdies come and say first seek our permission?
