Mangaluru, Jan 23: Jeppu parish under the leadership of ICYM is set to entertain a large crowd with a rollicking Maxim Nite at Jeppu Seminary open grounds at 5.30 pm here on January 26.
As many as 96 performers, 16 songs, 5 dances and six mimicry skits and Baila dance for 30 minutes will keep the crowd entertained throughout the evening.
Melody star Maxim Pereira, popularly known as 'Boom Boom Max' to his fans, will rock the stage with his Glorious Angelore band. This will be his 11th musical nite.
Fr Nelson D'Almieda, the parish priest will preside over the programme. Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will be the chief guest. Fr Joseph Martis, rector, St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu, mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred, and Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Media will be the guests of honour.
Entry is free. Daijiworld is the media partner of the event. Manu Bantwal will compere the show.
A large crowd is expected for the programme.
About Maxim Pereira
Maxim Pereira, born in Angelore, is popularly known to his fans as 'Boom Boom Max', because of his famous audio cassette 'Baila Boom'.
Right from childhood, Maxim used to sing and practice music on a regular basis. He used to sing in church gatherings, take part in music competitions, sing in party get-togethers, and thus win appreciation from public. He was awarded the first place for three consecutive years in the ‘Kalasampath’ inter parish singing competition in Mangaluru.
He was awarded the title 'Melody Star' by Pearls of Mangalore, a Konkani speaking association in Abu Dhabi February 2, 2011. He has judged several singing competitions and trained young budding singers. He has 10 music albums, 10 musical nites and over 50 stage shows to his credit, and has performed in Mangaluru, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain, and on Doordarshan (Bengaluru).
